    Day 441: Taitung

Jun 17 - Take the bus into town and find a place for lunch. Odette is not so well today, so go in search of medicine. Eventually find a place but there is nothing specifically for children. Get some anyway and split up, with Janet and Odette heading back to the hotel, and I walking down to the shore.

Haibin Park, that stretches along the shore.

This coast is characterized by heavy surf and gravelly beaches. It doesn’t look it, but even without sun it is very hot today.

Since Tainan we have noticed a lot of mangoes wrapped in bags. Probably to keep burrowing insects out.

Out behind the Railway Art Village (where the old Taitung railway station used to be), there are paths going up a nearby hill (Liyu Mountain Scenic Area), along with some temples.

The temple next to the Dragon and Phoenix Pagoda, which was closed so I couldn’t go up the seven floors. There were several areas here where people were singing karaoke.
