JUNE 20 - By about 9:30 this morning, we get a thunderstorm and an immediate cooling of the weather. Early checkout at 10:00, so store bags at the hotel reception and walk around downtown.
Down to train station for today’s journey. Discover that the train tickets I bought involve two transfers. Not preferable with all the gear. On the first transfer in Jičin, our train is late arriving, so it is a real sprint to catch the second.
Plenty of rain today. I note the crops are diversifying, now we see sunflowers, asparagus, corn, and other crops I cannot identify.
Go through the usual learning curve upon arrival in Prague hl. n. (hlavní nádraží), the main station. It is a warren of levels and connections with other transport. Find the C line, to the B line, and get out across the river in the Smíchov district. The host takes a long time to show up, but we finally get into the apartment, decent sized and with a much needed washing machine.
It has stopped raining, so head across the Palackého Bridge and just get a brief look at downtown before we call it a day.
