    Day 352: Gili Gede

Mar 21 - Besides snorkeling, we don’t have any other solid plan for what to do on Gili Gede. In the morning I teach Odette how to play badminton. About noon, when it could hardly get any hotter, we go for a walk along the shore to the north. This route goes around a basalt headland that is only walkable when not high tide. Beyond this is a very basic fishing village with one fancy resort right in the middle of it on the beach.

A bit of basalt flow suggests that these islands are remnants of old flows from a volcano on Lombok proper that has since eroded down.
