    Day 362: Labuan Aji

Mar 31 - Work this morning, mostly offline as the hotspot I’m using is intermittent. Its such a nice, quiet place to get stuff done, as we are still the only visitors at the resort. I go out for another snorkel. Odette plays with the daughter of the resort owner, a three-year old named Leslie.

In the early afternoon, we head north to another, smaller waterfall, called Diwu Mba’i.

Water buffalo, lounging in the mud. A classic southeast Asian domesticated animal that we really haven’t seen up until now.

As with yesterday, plenty of silicious sinter terracing.

I ask about hot springs on the island, but apparently there aren’t any. The precipitate I see must be coming from some underground source, but it doesn’t have an elevated temperature.

Back to Labuan Aji, with storms threatening all around. Odette is playing around with Leslie when the mosque announces the end of fasting, so she gets some Ramadan treats the family has prepared.
