Apr 27 - It is a relief to be through the immigration posts (each border crossing involves two separate disembarkations to get the stamps). It is a waste of several passport pages to get these stamps. After entering Sarawak (again), it is a short drive to Lawas, a small town where Janet and Odette go to KFC and I get a mie goreng above a vegetable market. I am done eating before they have even ordered their food.
After this, we get one more stamp, this one crossing from Sarawak to Sabah state. Like Sarawak, even Malaysians from the peninsula (and Sarawak), must have a valid passport before entering Sabah.
Arrive in Kota Kinabalu in the evening. Take a Grab to the hotel, and eat some dinner.
