Apr 24 - Taxi shows up early. We have a driver and a guy who is here apparently to translate. Either that or he is a friend of the family running an errand in Brunei. We head north along the coast, then take a 90 degree turn east to the border.
We are told that today there is only a fraction of the normal traffic. I had assumed it would be the opposite, with many people traveling at the end of Ramadan. In fact, the huge price tag on this ride (almost $180) was meant to reflect this ‘holiday surge’. We roll almost directly up to the Malaysian border and get the quick stamp out.
