    Day 415: Tagaytay

    Day 415: Tagaytay

May 22 - Today just work and walk around town. Not a great deal to see here. There are really just two main streets, that meet at a ‘T’ at the crater rim. It is crowded and noisy, with tuk-tuks zooming everywhere. We find a place to wash clothes for cheap, and I eat a breakfast dish called sisig, basically chopped-up chicken with rice. Get some info from a business owner about something to do tomorrow, since going down to the lake seems like a waste of time. Also learn about how we can get to Batangas port in two days (not as simple as I thought it would be).

Cityland has a great view of Taal Lake, from the roof above the 23rd floor. The tour photos I’ve seen of Taal Island (center above) all show a lot of vegetation. Since there is very little now, I assume it was lost due to the eruptions over the last three years.
