Feb 18 - Odette appears to have an ear infection, possibly from not draining out the water well enough from yesterday’s swimming in the ocean or the hotel pool. We go down the street to get some medicine. It is possible to get the ‘good stuff’ here without prescription, which is a big relief and saves a lot of time. Then off to a nearby restaurant for lunch. My plan today had been to get Janet into a Thai massage parlor to do some reflexology and see if it helps her knee. This we coordinate, and I go in for a neck and shoulder massage, places I am abusing a great deal with my heavy backpack. The massage is OK, in that it is painful and works on the knots, but the simple beds they have force me to put my head completely to the side, something I have been trying to avoid doing.
Give Odette her medicine and work from the room. A bit of rain in the afternoon, the first we’ve had in Thailand. Janet goes into town for her reflexology appointment, while Odette and I have dinner down the street from the hotel.
