Feb 27 - Stumble out of bed for our 4:30 taxi ride to BKK (Suvarnabhumi International Airport). The ride, arranged through the hostel, costs 450 Baht. It has been 30 years since I entered this terminal, and it has modernized correspondingly. The ticketing counter for Druk Air is way down at the end of the hall, and though we are there 2.5 hours ahead, there is already a long line. There are a few tourists, but the vast majority appear to be Bhutanese going home. A lot of large boxes with televisions and stereos, suggesting that Bangkok is a popular place to come buy electronics.
After the fun and games of security check, we try to enter a more zen state of mind to prepare for our next destination. Flight leaves on time, and fortunately for my collection, the Druk Air sick bag has the name of the airline on it.
