Aug 21 - Wake up with the geese, chickens, and various other farm animals out in back of the building. Walk down to the bus station by 11:00 and hang around with a lot of other bored backpackers. Most people heading northwest, to Kotor and Budva, the latter I’m told is a great party town for Russian tourists. We are heading the opposite way, through the agricultural plains and along the north shore of Shkodra Lake to the Albanian border.
Things are beginning to slow down, transport-wise. I have fully been expecting it to happen. We sit on the bus for about 30 minutes after scheduled departure time, waiting for a connecting bus to pass over passengers. Then, 20 minutes into the trip, the driver decides to get some petrol, and for some reason we sit at the station for 30 minutes more. Thankfully, the line at the border is very short.
