Up early, stumble into the minivan and head back out of the valley. See a lot of ‘hanyks’ along the way, a name given to animals produced from crossbreeding cows and yaks. They look like cows but with long hair. Stop at some Uiygur tombs:
Most of day in minivan, up another series of valleys and into an area heavily forested in larch. Here is Tsenkher Hot Springs and a number of wooden cabins. The waters are piped across a stream an into some pools. Most of them are too hot for us, but a few are tolerable for a short time.
Rainstorm this evening as we sit in the pools, triple rainbow to the east, and thunder echoes down the valley.
